Brad Keselowski takes pole for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Kansas

After being fastest in practice earlier in the day, Brad Keselowski doubled up by winning the pole for Sunday’s Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Keselowski (195.503 mph) edged Carl Edwards (195.454 mph) for the pole. It was Keselowski’s 10th pole of his Sprint Cup career.

However, because his team has received four written warnings from NASCAR for recent inspection violations, Keselowski will not have the No. 1 pit stall for Sunday’s race. His team forfeits its position to pick pit stalls because of those warnings.

Kyle Busch was third quick (194.826 mph), followed by Kevin Harvick (194.756), Denny Hamlin (194.735). Jeff Gordon (194.623) is sixth and followed by Martin Truex Jr. (194.370), Ryan Blaney, (194.363), Kurt Busch (194.335) and Ryan Newman (194.301).

Ten of the first 12 qualifiers are Chase drivers.

Charlotte winner and points leader Joey Logano failed to make it out of the second round and managed a top speed of 194.035 mph.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., meanwhile, was the slowest of all Chase qualifiers (194.000). Logano will start 14th in Sunday’s race, while Earnhardt will start 15th.
