The teams of Brad Keselowski and Tony Stewart each will lose the ability to pick their pit stall based on their qualifying performance this weekend at Kansas after both received their fourth warning last weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Keselowski holds the eighth and final transfer spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup with this weekend’s race at Kansas Speedway and next weekend’s race at Talladega Superspeedway left before the Chase field is cut from 12 to eight drivers.

Now, regardless of how well Keselowski qualifies at Kansas, his team will pick its pit stall after every team but Stewart’s.

NASCAR streamlined its warning system in August. Officials stated that for every fourth warning a team receives, it will result in the loss of pit selection at the next event. Warnings cannot be appealed. Teams pick their pit stalls based on how they qualify.

Keselowski’s team was one of five Chase teams - and 10 Sprint Cup teams total - to receive warnings at Charlotte.

The teams of Stewart and Jeff Gordon each received a warning for failing pre-qualifying inspection too many times.

The teams of Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr. each received a warning for failing pre-race inspection too many times.

The teams of Stewart and Bowyer each received a warning for failing pre-race inspection templates too many times. Stewart’s team also will be prevented from participating in the first 15 minutes of practice Friday at Kansas.

The team of Joey Logano received a warning for a violation of Section 20.20.a - installation of components and/or modifications of existing components to affect the aerodynamic properties of the vehicle will be not be permitted - and violation of Section 12.5.3.1.1.c - installation of additional components and/or modifications of existing components that affect the aerodynamic properties of the vehicle that are not explicitly permitted.

Both the teams of Keselowski and Ryan Blaney received warnings for the same infractions.

The team of J.J. Yeley received a warning for infraction of Section 10.7.2.1.d - any crew member involved in the cause of the unapproved vehicle/mechanical adjustment to the team’s vehicle during the race.

Stewart’s team received a warning for violation of Section 20.14.2.1.1, an infraction related to the driver-adjusted track bar.

In the Xfinity Series, the No. 28 team of Yeley received a warning for failing the laser inspection platform too many times and will be docked 15 minutes of practice Friday at Kansas.
