Longtime Chicago Cubs fan Kurt Busch will attend tonight’s National League wild-card game at Pittsburgh, hoping to see the Cubs win their first playoff game since 2003.

Busch said Tuesday he would attend teammate Kevin Harvick’s golf tournament this morning before heading to Pittsburgh to watch the Cubs in the one-game playoff.

Busch told USA Today three years ago that “my dream is to be in Chicago when the Cubs win the World Series for the celebration that will not end.’'

In that same story, Busch, noting that the movie “Back to the Future” had the Cubs winning the title in 2015, said: “I’ve always had this vision about the Cubs winning the 2015 World Series.’'

This could be the start and Busch, who has thrown out the first pitch multiple times at Wrigley Field and sung “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the seventh-inning stretch at that ballpark, will be in Pittsburgh to witness it.

Busch said Tuesday that this Cubs team has made this a fun season to watch.

“We’ve been rebuilding for the last four years, and we have a very young team,’' he said. “What makes this exciting is that it’s not just a one and done. There’s so much potential into the future that we can play loose and find results that we didn’t even expect this year, so it’s neat to watch them as a fan and to see the team develop because I’m in sports and I’ve seen how my team has developed over the years, and it’s a good comparison.’'
