DOVER, Del. – Richard Petty Motorsports has scheduled a news conference Tuesday at its Mooresville, N.C., shop to reveal its manufacturer for “2016 beyond.”

It’s expected RPM will remain with Ford, which has been aligned with the two-car organization since the 2010 season. Team owner Richard Petty had been exploring options with Toyota and Chevrolet since last season.

Before the Sept. 20 opener of the Chase for the Sprint Cup at Chicagoland Speedway, Ford Performance global director Dave Pericak indicated the manufacturer likely would keep its current lineup (which also includes Team Penske and Roush Fenway Racing) for next season.

“I think right now we are staying focused on the rest of the season and continuing to show improvement,” Pericak said. “We are going to stay focused on the Chase and continue to roll out an improvement plan for the start of next season. Stay tuned on that, but we plan to strengthen the teams we have today.”

RPM fields the No. 43 of Aric Almirola and No. 9 of Sam Hornish Jr.
