Kevin Harvick did what he had to do Sunday, winning the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway in order to advance to the second round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
It was Harvick’s first win since March and was the first race not won by Joe Gibbs Racing since Joey Logano at the summer Bristol race. It’s the first race not won by either JGR or Team Penske since Dale Earnhardt Jr. won the July race at Daytona, 12 races ago.
Behind Harvick were Kyle Busch, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Jamie McMurray and Aric Almirola.
Other Chase finishers: Matt Kenseth (seventh), Joey Logano (10th), Martin Truex Jr. (11th), Jeff Gordon (12th), Clint Bowyer (14th), Carl Edwards (15th), Brad Keselowski (16th), Kurt Busch (17th), Denny Hamlin (18th) and Ryan Newman (19th, one lap down).
