Denny Hamlin and friends will once again enjoy two of their favorite non-racing activities – golf and music – at the fourth annual Denny & Mark’s Pro-Am Jam later this month in Charleston, S.C.
The charity fundraising event will be held Oct. 26-27 on Charleston’s Daniel Island, hosted by Hamlin, Hootie and the Blowfish’s Mark Bryan and entrepreneur Denis Gallagher.
Bryan will host a jam session on Oct. 26 with a number of noted musicians, including fellow band members from Hootie & the Blowfish, Creed’s Scott Stapp, The Spin Doctors’ Chris Barron, Staind’s Aaron Lewis, Chris Kirkpatrick of NSYNC, country music legend Johnny Lee, singer/songwriter Steve Azar and 14-time Grammy winner Dan Tyminski.
The following day, there will be a Celebrity Pro-Am golf tournament on Daniel Island’s award-winning Ralston Creek Course.
Other sports greats scheduled to attend include NFL Super Bowl Champion Coach and NASCAR Championship team owner Joe Gibbs, NHL Hall of Famer Grant Fuhr, NBA legend Rick Barry, and former NFL, NCAA standout and actor Ed Marinaro.
Funds raised will go to the Denny Hamlin Foundation, Carolina Studios and Student Transportation America Education Foundation, plus the Emanuel AME Moving Forward Fund, benefitting the Charleston church where nine people were killed in a mass shooting tragedy in June.
In the first three years, the event has raised over $500,000 for charity.
“The Pro-Am Jam just gets bigger every year and we keep raising the bar in the amount of fun and fundraising,” Hamlin said in a media release. “I don’t know which part of the event I enjoy more, the concert, golf, or the auction.
“But the best part is always when you see the smiles of the kids whose lives are being impacted.”
