NASCAR issues penalties for inspection violations at Loudon, Kentucky

NASCAR on Thursday announced several penalties to teams in Sprint Cup, Xfinity and Camping World Trucks stemming from last weekend’s races in New Hampshire and Kentucky.

All of the cars/trucks cited either failed the laser platform part of the inspection process, or were late for or failed qualifying or race inspection.

Penalties assessed include 15-minute car holds during this weekend’s practices at Dover (Sprint Cup and Xfinity) and Las Vegas (Trucks), as well as written warnings.

Here’s how the penalties break down:

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series:

* The No. 4 Chevrolet (driver: Kevin Harvick) failed laser inspection three times in pre-qualifying and twice in race inspection. Penalty: two written warnings and a 15-minute practice hold at Dover.

* The No. 62 Ford (driver: Timmy Hill) was late to qualifying inspection. Penalty: 15-minute practice hold at Dover.

* The No. 2 Ford (driver: Brad Keselowski) failed qualifying inspection. Penalty: written warning.

* The No. 17 Ford (driver: Ricky Stenhouse Jr.) failed qualifying inspection. Penalty: written warning.

* The No. 7 Chevrolet (driver: Alex Bowman) was late to race inspection. Penalty: 15-minute practice hold.

NASCAR Xfinity Series:

* The No. 3 Chevrolet (driver: Ty Dillon) failed laser inspection too many times. Penalty: Written warning.

* The No. 25 Chevrolet (driver: Dylan Lupton) failed laser inspection too many times. Penalty: Written warning.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series:

* The No. 44 RAM (driver: Josh Reaume) was late to inspection. Penalty: 15-minute practice hold.
