The possibility that Hurricane Joaquin may impact the mid-Atlantic states this weekend has led to at least one race postponement.
While the Xfinity and Sprint Cup races at Dover International Speedway are still on, Martinsville Speedway has postponed this weekend’s scheduled ValleyStar Credit Union 300.
Per a track media release issued Thursday morning:
“With the Governor of Virginia declaring a state of emergency for Virginia due to the heavy rain predicted for the weekend, the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville Speedway has been postponed until Sunday, October 11.
“The ValleyStar Credit Union 300 is the nation’s biggest, richest and most prestigious NASCAR Late Model Stock Car race.”
