Carl Edwards posted the fastest lap in Saturday morning’s first practice session at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a lap of 133.516 mph.

Kevin Harvick was next at 133.427 mph.

Harvick had the fastest average over a 10-lap run at 132.41 mph. Denny Hamlin had the fastest average during a 15-lap run at 131.77 mph. Jimmie Johnson was the only driver to be in the top five in the 10-lap and 15-lap averages. He ranked third in the 10-lap average at 132.08 mph and was second in the 15-lap average at 131.71 mph.

Jeffrey Earnhardt hit the wall during practice. The team was working to repair the car.
