Richard Childress Racing is giving Brandon Jones a promotion.

The 18 year old will compete full time in the Xfinity Series in 2016, the team announced Friday afternoon.

A native of Atlanta, Jones has competed in 19 Camping World Truck Series since the age of 16 and has ran four Xfinity races for RCR this year, with a best result of eighth in the first Iowa race.

“I’m honored to have the opportunity to drive for RCR on a full-time basis in 2016,” said Jones in a release. “I’ve learned a lot working with the RCR organization and the No. 33 XFINITY Series team in 2015 and look forward to continuing my development, contribute to RCR’s success and produce positive results for all of my sponsors and fans.”

Saturday’s Xfinity race at Kentucky Speedway will be Jones’ last of 2015.

RCR currently fields Ty Dillon, Brian Scott and Brendan Gaughan on a full-time basis in the Xfinity Series.

Jones’ best finish in a NASCAR sanctioned race was also at Iowa, when he finished second in the CWTS in June. In the ARCA series, Jones was the first driver in its 62-year history to win his first two starts by taking the checkered flag back to back at Winchester and Indianapolis.
