Oscar-nominated actress Rosie Perez will serve as grand marshal for the Oct. 4 AAA 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Dover International Speedway, the track announced Thursday.
Perez will give the command for drivers to start their engines in a race that will ultimately see four drivers eliminated from the Chase for the Sprint Cup following the race.
Known for such movies as Spike Lee’s “Do the Right Thing,” “White Men Can’t Jump” and “Fearless,” Perez’s latest movie is “Five Nights in Maine.” She’s also appearing on Broadway in New York City in Larry David’s “Fish in the Dark.”
