Dale Earnhardt Jr. believes in public service.
The most popular driver in NASCAR for the last 12 years took to Twitter on Wednesday to warn drivers and pedestrians in the state of North Carolina to keep their collective eyes on the road.
“ATTENTION local North Carolinian residents. My niece @KarsynElledge3 passed her drivers Ed test. Proceed with caution! Congrats Karsyn.”
But Karsyn, who earned her learner’s permit, was quick with her own response.
Even mom got into the act:
The 14-year old Karsyn is the daughter of Junior’s sister, Kelley Earnhardt Miller, and veteran NASCAR crew chief Jimmy Elledge.
Not only is Junior her uncle, Karsyn is also the granddaughter of the late Dale Earnhardt.
But Uncle Dale (or might that be “Uncle Junior”) needn’t worry too much: For the past couple of years, Karsyn has been racing Mini Outlaw go-karts built by her father.
Naturally, her car is black and sports the No. 3 of her late grandfather, who she refers to as “Papaw Dale.”
Karsyn recently won her first 250 race, per her Twitter account.
She also was recently named host of Season 2 of “NASCAR Hammer Down” on NickToons, a subsidiary of Nickelodeon, which is partial sponsor of her go-kart.
