Today’s Xfinity race at Chicagoland: Start time, TV info, more

JOLIET, Ill. — The NASCAR Xfinity Series will play host Saturday to the Furious 7 300 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Here are the particulars (all times are ET):

START: Rapper and actor Ludacris, a star of the movie (and title sponsor) “Furious 7,” will give the command for drivers to start their engines at 6:07 p.m. ET. The green flag is scheduled for 6:16 p.m.

DISTANCE: The race is scheduled for 200 laps (300 miles) around the 1.5-mile track.

PRERACE SCHEDULE: The Xfinity garage opens at 9 a.m. Qualifying is at 2:45 p.m. The drivers meeting is at 4:15 p.m. Driver introductions are at 5:35 p.m.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: It will be performed at 6:02 p.m..

TV/RADIO: NBCSN will broadcast the race (and streaming available at http://stream.nbcsports.com/liveextra), starting with Countdown to Green at 5:30 p.m. Motor Racing Network will broadcast the race on radio and at MRN.com. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will carry MRN’s broadcast.

FORECAST: The wunderground.com site predicts 69 degrees at race time with a 0% chance of rain.

LAST TIME: Kevin Harvick led the final 40 laps to score an Xfinity victory here Sept. 13, 2014. In the June 21 race at Chicagoland Speedway, Erik Jones outdueled Ryan Blaney for the win.
