JOLIET, Ill. --After rain canceled qualifying in progress, Kyle Larson will start from the pole for Friday night’s Camping World Truck Series race at Chicagoland Speedway based of the series’ only practice session.
Larson, who is competing in only his 10th career Truck race, was the only driver to exceed 175 mph, clocking a top speed of 175.052 mph. This will be the third Truck race Larson has started from the pole.
Two-time defending Truck Series champ Matt Crafton was second fastest at 174.967, followed by Johnny Sauter (174.927), Tyler Reddick (174.627) and Timothy Peters (174.216).
Points leader Erik Jones was eighth fastest at 173.891 mph.
The American Ethanol E15 225 is scheduled for tonight at 8:30 pm ET on Fox Sports 1. But heavy thunderstorms are predicted into the evening.
