NASCAR Sprint Cup teams will have a new right-side tire this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.

The new tire employs Goodyear’s multi-zone tread technology. The left-side tires are the same code that have run at this track since 2011. Teams used this left-side code at Texas and Darlington earlier this season. Teams ran the right-side code at Texas.

The left-side tires with the same code are scheduled to be used at Dover, Texas and Homestead in the Chase. The right-side tires with the same code are scheduled to be used at Texas and Homestead.

This weekend’s tires were confirmed in a test June 10 at Chicagoland Speedway. Drivers who participated were Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Paul Menard and Jimmie Johnson.

Sprint Cup teams will be limited to five sets of tires for practice and qualifying and 10 sets for the race.
