Chase driver to go ‘undercover’ at Texas event

You’ve heard of Undercover Boss?

Well, Texas Motor Speedway is taking that a step further when it sends a driver “undercover” at the track next Tuesday.

The undercover driver – who will be one of the 16 participants in the upcoming Chase for the Sprint Cup – will surprise a group of season ticket holders at TMS as part of NASCAR’s Chase Across America Day.

The event will be held at Noon CT at Klyde Warren Park. A number of season ticket holders are being invited under the guise that they’ll be filmed for a fan appreciation video that will air on the track’s “Big Hoss TV” big-screen during the Nov. 8 AAA Texas 500 Sprint Cup race.

“The ‘undercover’ NASCAR driver will be disguised as a videographer taping the segment for Texas Motor Speedway and we’ll see what it takes for (the fans) to recognize him,” the track said in a media release.

It’ll be interesting to see how sharp-eyed the chosen ticket holders will be, as the identity of the “undercover” driver that will take part in the Texas event will actually be revealed after Saturday night’s race at Richmond – nearly three days before the TMS event.
