The Southern 500 has come and gone and with it a weekend full of memorable moments, cars and people to get us by until next year.

It culminated in Carl Edwards winning his first Sprint Cup race at Darlington Raceway and his team altering the lettering in Darlington to read “Carlington.”

Here’s a brief look at some of the scenes from Darlington Raceway and the first Labor Day weekend race at the track since 2003.
