Matt Kenseth’s bid to sweep both 2015 Sprint Cup races at Bristol Motor Speedway came to an abrupt end on Lap 111 of Saturday’s Irwin Tools Night Race.

Kenseth was looking strong during the first fifth of the scheduled 500-lap race when his engine suddenly let go.

He told his team over the radio that he believed the issue might be a broken valve spring in the engine of his Toyota Camry.

Kenseth took his car to the garage, his night over, and ending his hopes of potentially earning a third win in his last four starts.
