While other teams announced their Southern 500 paint schemes in a press release, Roush Fenway Racing went step further, unveiling Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s in a ceremony at Darlington Raceway.

Roush revealed that in the Sept. 6 race, Stenhouse’s No. 17 Ford will be sponsored by Cargill and will be a tribute to NASCAR legend David Pearson.

Pearson, who won 105 Sprint Cup races between 1961 and 1980, was victorious at the “Track Too Tough to Tame” 10 times in 47 career starts.

Six of Pearson’s 10 wins at Darlington, his most at any track, came under the ownership of the Wood Brothers. The last time Roush Fenway won at Darlington was in 2006 with Greg Biffle.

Stenhouse’s paint job for the Sept. 6 race, which airs on NBC, joins those of Jimmie JohnsonRyan BlaneyChase Elliott, Kevin Harvick, Tony Stewart and Austin Dillon.
