Matt Crafton posted a lap of 186.659 mph in Friday’s final practice session for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Michigan International Speedway.
The track record is 185.759 mph by Jeb Burton in Aug. 2013.
Daniel Hemric, who was quickest in the opening practice session, was second to Crafton after a lap of 186.210 mph in the final session. Cameron Hayley was next at 185.907 mph.
The series races Saturday.
