Brad Keselowski is at the front of the pack at the halfway point of Sunday’s Cheez-It 355 Sprint Cup event at Watkins Glen International.
Keselowski has led 17 of the first 45 laps of the scheduled 90-lap event.
Carl Edwards is running second, followed by Martin Truex Jr., David Ragan, Kyle Busch and pole-sitter AJ Allmendinger, who has led a race-high 21 laps thus far.
Tony Stewart, who leads all drivers with five wins at The Glen, is running 11th.
Several drivers still hoping to win a race to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup have suffered various issues that have knocked them back in the pack.
Aric Almirola spun and was struck by Paul Menard, who couldn’t stop in time to avoid Almirola’s car, which suffered damage that has him sitting 40th at the halfway point, one lap down.
Jeff Gordon, who many looked upon as a favorite, has fallen back to last place, four laps behind the leaders.
Just as the race reached past the halfway point, Austin Dillon lost his left rear tire and had to drive around more than half of the track on just three tires to reach the pits.
