A choppy start to Sunday’s Windows 10 400 at Pocono Raceway continued with a bizarre crash between Sam Hornish Jr. and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Hornish apparently missed a shift during a restart, and his No. 9 Ford slowed entering Turn 1. Stenhouse’s No. 17 Ford rammed the rear of Hornish’s car and skidded into the SAFER barrier, leaving its hood crumpled.
It was the fourth caution flag in the first 28 laps of the 400-mile race on the 2.5-mile track.
Hornish was involved in another crash on Lap 66, slamming into Kurt Busch’s spinning No. 41 Chevrolet.
