Daughter arrives for Ray and Erin Evernham

Former racer Erin Crocker Evernham, wife of NASCAR on NBC analyst Ray Evernham, delivered the couple’s first child on Saturday. Ray Evernham announced Cate Susan Evernham’s birth on Twitter.

Ray Evernham won three NASCAR Sprint Cup championships as crew chief for Jeff Gordon in the 1990s and was a nominee for the 2016 NASCAR Hall of Fame class. Evernham also was an owner, ushering Dodge’s return to the Sprint Cup Series in 2001. He also serves as a consultant for the competition department at Hendrick Motorsports.

Erin Crocker Evernham competed in 29 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races from 2005-06 and 2008 and ran in 10 races in what is now the Xfinity Series in 2005-06.
