During the final Sprint Cup practice at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Timmy Hill went into the wall off turn four and ended up tearing up some of the track with his rear extension.
His car suffered heavy front end damage.
It was the second incident of the day for Hill, who hit some tungsten debris during the second practice.

Today has been extremely tough & the last thing we needed was a wrecked car. Sorry to all the hard working people on this team.

“I guess the best way to describe today is very disappointing,” Hill said. “We didn’t get a chance to go out for the first practice. Then in the beginning of second practice, we were hoping to get some good laps in. Right off the bat, somebody dropped some tungsten and we ran over it.
“Then for the final practice, we swung for the fences, it was too free and the end result is a wrecked race car. We definitely didn’t need this.”
