NASCAR weekend schedule at Indianapolis: Friday practices through the Brickyard 400

While NASCAR’s race week began Wednesday on dirt with the Camping World Truck Series race at Eldora Speedway, the main event will be held this weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The build up to the Sprint Cup Series’ Brickyard 400 at 3:30 pm ET Sunday starts Friday with three practice sessions.

The Xfinity Series is also in town for Saturday’s Lilly Diabetes 250 at 3:30 p.m. ET

Note: the Xfinity Series race will air on NBC on Saturday; the Brickyard 400 will be broadcast on NBCSN on Sunday.

Here’s the weekend schedule (all times listed are Eastern):

FRIDAY, JULY 24

6:30 am – 7:30 pm – Sprint Cup garage open

8:30 am – 7 pm – Xfinity garage open

9 am – 10:25 am – Sprint Cup practice (No TV, streamed on NBC Sports Live Extra)

11:30 am – 12:55 pm – Xfinity Series practice (NBCSN coverage begins at noon)

1 pm – 2:25 pm – Sprint Cup practice (NBCSN)

2:30 pm – 3:55 pm – Final Xfinity Series practice (NBCSN)

4 pm – 5:55 pm – Final Sprint Cup practice (NBCSN)

SATURDAY, JULY 25

6:30 am – 6 pm – Sprint Cup garage open

9:30 am – Xfinity Series garage opens

11 am – Xfinity Series driver and crew chief meeting

11:35 am – Xfinity Series qualifying (NBCSN)

1:10 pm – Sprint Cup qualifying (IMS Radio Network, NBCSN)

3 pm – Xfinity Series driver introductions

3:30 pm –  Xfinity Series Lilly Diabetes 250 (100 laps, 250 miles) (NBC, IMS Radio Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)

SUNDAY, JULY 26

9:30 am – Sprint Cup garage

1:30 pm – Sprint Cup driver and crew chief meeting

3 pm – Sprint Cup driver introductions

3:30 pm – 22nd annual Brickyard 400, (160 laps, 400 miles) (NBCSN, IMS Radio Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)
