Dale Earnhardt Jr. hasn’t forgotten about last Saturday’s run-in with Danica Patrick at Kentucky Speedway. He called it an accident because he had brake problems, while she questioned his judgment on her team’s radio.
The he said-she said controversy made headlines.
That wasn’t lost on Earnhardt, who tweeted to Patrick after Saturday’s Xfinity Series race that the late contact between Denny Hamlin and Austin Dillon will make “headlines for days.”
He added a smiley face afterward.
Patrick approached Earnhardt after driver introductions Sunday and patted him on the back. She talked with him briefly before going into the back of a pickup truck to go around the track. Earnhardt was in a separate pickup truck.
