The fall Xfinity Series race at Chicagoland Speedway will be sponsored by “Furious 7,” the latest movie in the “Fast and Furious” series.
The “Furious 7 300" will be held on Sept. 19, the day before the Chase for the Sprint Cup begins at the 1.5-mile track.
Chris” Ludacris” Bridges, who portrays Tejin, will be the grand marshal and lead the field to the green flag as the honorary pace car driver.
The highest-grossing film of the franchise, “Furious 7" will be released on Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on Sept. 15 from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment (UPHE).
“As we saw first-hand with our ground breaking Fast Five partnership back in 2011, UPHE understands the thrills that come along with great racing,” Chicagoland Speedway president Scott Paddock said in a release. “I’m sure a large portion of our fans have seen most if not all of the films in the franchise, but we’re also looking forward to giving Furious 7 and its home entertainment release the national platform that comes along with the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend.”
The Furious 7 300 will be broadcast on NBCSN.
