SPARTA, Ky. — The waterlogged grass at Kentucky Speedway has become a treacherous area for unfortunate NASCAR drivers who take a spin into the sod this weekend. Near the end of Sprint Cup practice Friday, Matt Kenseth’s No. 20 Toyota needed to be towed after getting bogged in the muck.

Early in Friday’s Xfinity Series race, John Wes Townley’s No. 25 Chevrolet also was trapped in the grass. But with some patience and a few pushes from track safety workers, Townley was able to escape and make a relatively clean exit to the pits, as seen in the video above.
