Thirteen NASCAR Sprint Cup teams are scheduled to take part in an open test Wednesday at Chicagoland Speedway.

The test follows a Goodyear tire test there Monday and Tuesday. Scheduled to take part in the tire test are Dale Earnhardt Jr. (Hendrick Motorsports), Martin Truex Jr., (Furniture Row Racing), Sam Hornish Jr., (Richard Petty Motorsports) and JJ Yeley (BK Racing).

A low-downforce package is expected to be tried at the test. NASCAR has not ruled out aero package changes for races in the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Chicagoland Speedway hosts the opening Chase race Sept. 20.

“I think it’s a great idea to go there and take whatever package they would like to try because it’s a great opportunity to be there,’' Earnhardt said. “We’ll be there three full days. We’ll need some stuff to do.’'

Scheduled to test on July 15 will be those four drivers and Kyle Larson (Chip Ganassi Racing), Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway Racing), Denny Hamlin (Joe Gibbs Racing), Ryan Blaney (Wood Brothers), Austin Dillon (Richard Childress Racing), Kurt Busch (Stewart-Haas Racing), Clint Bowyer (Michael Waltrip Racing), Justin Allgaier (HScott Motorsports) and Team Penske, which has not revealed which driver will take part in the test.
