Watch LIVE: NASCAR America at 5-6 pm ET — All the latest from practice sessions at Kentucky Speedway

nascaram_7_8_15

On today’s expanded one-hour edition of NASCAR America, which runs live from 5 to 6 pm ET, we’ll bring you the latest from today’s practices at Kentucky Speedway.

NASCAR has two practice sessions scheduled at the 1.5-mile track to allow drivers and teams to become acquainted with the new aero and rules package that will be used in Saturday night’s Quaker State 400 race.

Carolyn Manno, Kyle Petty and Dale Jarrett anchor from our Stamford (Conn.) studio, while Steve Letarte and Jeff Burton will join us live from Kentucky Speedway.

Among today’s show highlights:

* The first practice was scheduled to go from 3 to 5 pm ET, but rain has prevented cars from taking to the track. At this writing, the Air Titans are attempting to dry the surface. A second practice session is scheduled for 6 to 8 pm ET, but given the rain, that could change.

* Regardless of the rain, Letarte and Burton will give their thoughts on the new rules package and how they think it will affect the racing this weekend.
