Behind every great NASCAR driver is a crew chief. For Martin Truex Jr. at Furniture Row Racing, that crew chief is Cole Pearn, who is in his first year in the position with the No. 78 team.
Pearn, a native of Mt. Bridges, Ontario, Canada, and a former racer, has been instrumental in the incredible turnaround for FRR in 2015. Truex sits second in the points standings after earning one win and five top-fives and 14 top-ten finishes.

A fan asked Pearn which track in the Chase for the Sprint Cup he thought Truex and the No. 78 team could make some “some serious noise” at once the postseason starts. Pearn aimed high in his response.
Pearn is right. Homestead, which hosts the championship round of the Chase, isn’t just one of Truex’s best tracks, it’s the best. Though his three career wins have been at Dover International Speedway, Sonoma Raceway and Pocono Raceway, Homestead is the only track where Truex averages a top-10 finish (10.0).
