Two weeks after winning in his first race at Pocono Raceway in the ARCA Series, Trevor Bayne, the 2011 Daytona 500 winner, is preparing for his first-career start at another track on the Sprint Cup circuit: Sonoma Raceway.

Bayne is preparing by entering into the K&N Pro Series West‘s June 27 race at the 12-turn, 1.99-mile road course.

The Roush Fenway Racing driver will compete for Bill McAnally Racing.

Bayne will be joined in the field by Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Dillon, who has two starts on the course in Cup and KNPSW.

Before the 2015 Sprint Cup season, Trevor Bayne had raced sporadically in the series in a part-time ride in the No. 21 owned by the Wood brothers.

Surprisingly, even after entering 73 races over six years with the Wood brothers, in addition to his time with Roush Fenway Racing in the Xfinity Series, there are still tracks Bayne has yet to race on, including Sonoma.

Two weeks ago at Pocono, Bayne started on the pole in what was also his first ARCA race and led 42 of 80 laps on the way to the win.

NBCSN will air the Sonoma race at 6 p.m., July 2.
