If you like your NASCAR mixed with mullets and Saturday Night Live actors from the 90s, then get excited for this year’s Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway.
Daytona has announced that David Spade, who portrays the title character in Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser, will serve as the grand marshal for the July 5 Sprint Cup race that airs on NBC. Joe Dirt 2, the sequel to 2001’s Joe Dirt, will be released exclusively on the website Crackle on July 16.
“We’re excited to welcome David Spade as Grand Marshal for the Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola,” Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood said in a release. “His starting command, which will be delivered in front of thousands of fans and millions more watching on NBC, will begin an exciting night of NASCAR racing on the high banks.”
