The Quicken Loans 400 has once again been stopped by rain for a fourth time Sunday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway.
There are reports of severe weather in the area. Fans are taking cover under the grandstands or returning to their vehicles.
Kurt Busch is in the lead with 62 laps to go, followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Pocono winner Martin Truex Jr., Matt Kenseth and Joey Logano.
NASCAR has not announced if the race will be ruled official, or if a fifth attempt to restart the event will still be made. If NASCAR calls a premature end to the race, Busch will take his second victory of the season.
Busch’s younger brother, Kyle, wrecked on Lap 53 -- hitting hard into the outside retaining wall with the right front of his Toyota -- and returned to the track 53 laps later after repairs were made. But the effort will likely be for naught, as Kyle will likely finish last in the 43-car field if the race is called.
Kevin Harvick has led the most laps (63) but a broken valve on the right front tire of his car shortly after a pit stop caused the tire to go flat, forcing Harvick to go from a 4.6-second lead to fall two laps back and in 29th place when the rain fell.
Carl Edwards has led the second-most laps (40), but he was running 12th when the race was stopped.
Pole-sitter Kasey Kahne is scored 15th.
