Joey Logano set a track record in Saturday’s first round of Xfinity Series qualifying and then came back in the final round to earn the pole for this afternoon’s Great Clips 250 Benefiting Paralyzed Veterans of America.

Logano took the pole not far off from the track record he set in the first round with a run of 193.637 mph (at 37.183 seconds).

In the first segment, Logano set a MIS record for Xfinity cars, covering the two-mile track at a speed of 193.772 mph (at 37.157 seconds). Logano has won three times thus far this season in the Xfinity Series.

Also in the first session, rookie NXS driver C.J. Faison wrecked. But because there are only 40 cars entered in the race, Faison will likely be able to race later this afternoon if he can get his backup car ready.

Brian Scott qualified second (193.398 mph), followed by Darrell Wallace Jr. (193.278), Kyle Larson (193.211), Paul Menard (192.606), Brendan Gaughan (192.539), Kevin Harvick (192.277), Regan Smith (191.459), Ty Dillon (191.43) and Daniel Suarez (191.337).
