Ross Kenseth to make ARCA start a week before Xfinity Series debut

Ross Kenseth, son of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Matt Kenseth, will make his ARCA season debut Friday at Michigan International Speedway.

This comes before Ross Kenseth makes his Xfinity Series debut June 20 at Chicagoland Speedway, driving for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Friday’s race at Michigan will mark Kenseth’s third career ARCA start. He’ll drive for Ken Schrader Racing.

“I’d say the biggest challenge will be getting used to the speed there as it’s probably one of the faster tracks (ARCA) goes to,” Kenseth said in a team release. “Racing there is pretty wide. I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun on restarts, and that track seems to be pretty good for passing. I had a good time working with Schrader Racing a couple of years ago at Madison (Wis.) and I’m looking forward to being back with them.”

Kenseth finished sixth at Madison, Wis., in his ARCA debut in 2013. He placed third at Kansas last year in his only other ARCA start.
