Chase Tracker: Halfway to setting NASCAR’s field of title contenders after Dover race

Thirteen races are down and 13 NASCAR Sprint Cup events remain until the Chase for the Sprint Cup field is set.

Sixteen drivers will advance to the Chase. Any driver with a win while also ranking in the top 30 in points and having attempted to qualify for every race (unless granted a NASCAR waiver) will make the Chase. If the points leader does not have a win, they’ll make the Chase. If there are more than 16 different winners, ties will be broken by number of wins and then points.

Jimmie Johnson’s win Sunday at Dover gave him a series-high four victories and kept him in the No. 1 spot for the Chase. With nine different winners this season, seven spots remain available via points – as of now.
