Denny Hamlin fastest in Saturday’s opening Sprint Cup practice

Pole-sitter Denny Hamlin led the way in Saturday morning’s Sprint Cup practice session, topping the field with a lap of 156.331 mph.

Three of Joe Gibbs Racing’s four cars were in the top 10 with Hamlin first, Carl Edwards second and Matt Kenseth third. Kyle Busch was 12th.

Hendrick Motorsports, which struggled in Friday’s qualifying, had two cars in the top 10 Saturday with Jimmie Johnson fourth and Dale Earnhardt Jr. ninth.
