In the Sprint Cup’s first on-track preparation for Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Carl Edwards posted the fastest speed of 192.273 mph through 12 laps in the 90-minute session.
The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was ahead of Jimmie Johnson (191.673), who is looking for his eighth points race win at the 1.5-mile track.
The top five was rounded out by Kasey Kahne (191.639), Kevin Harvick (191.442) and David Ragan (191.435).
