CONCORD, N.C. - Kasey Kahne passed Denny Hamlin on the outside on Lap 15 and went on to win the opening 25-lap segment in Saturday night’s Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Hamlin, who started on the pole, led the first 14 laps before Kahne passed.

Hamlin finished second. He was followed by Dale Earnhardt Jr., Brad Keselowski and Kurt Busch, who started 16th.

Jeff Gordon was sixth and followed by Joey Logano, Greg Biffle, Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick. Kyle Busch finished 14th after starting 19th.

Biffle bounced off the wall on Lap 20. He hit the wall again on the last lap of the segment. There were no caution laps in the opening segment.
