CONCORD, N.C. — The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will hold the two-segment Sprint Showdown at Charlotte Motor Speedway, awarding slots in the Sprint All-Star Race to each segment winner.

Here are the particulars (all times are ET):

START: The command for drivers to start their engines will be given at 7:15 p.m. ET. The green flag is scheduled for 7:25 p.m.

DISTANCE: Each segment is 20 laps (30 miles) around the 1.5-mile oval.

PRERACE SCHEDULE: The drivers meeting is at 5:15 p.m. Driver introductions begin at 6:53 p.m.

TV/RADIO: Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the race, starting with a prerace show at 12:30 p.m. Performance Racing Network will broadcast the race on radio and at GoPRN.com.

FORECAST: The wunderground.com site predicts 79 degrees at race time with a 6% chance of rain.

LAST TIME: Clint Bowyer won the 40-lap event (which wasn’t broken into two segements), leading 19 laps and finishing 2.547 seconds ahead of A.J. Allmendinger, who also advanced to the All-Star Race.
