Kasey Kahne got an early start on possibly sweeping the weekend, capturing the pole for tonight’s Camping World Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Now, if Kahne can win the North Carolina Education Lottery 200 Truck race tonight and double-up with a win in Saturday’s Sprint All-Star Race, it would be a memorable weekend indeed.

Kahne earned the Truck race pole with a best lap of 181.342 mph, which seemed to somewhat surprise him when he was interviewed afterward on Fox Sports 1.

“We won the pole, so it worked out, I guess,” Kahne said. “We ended up making a fast lap, which was nice. … It worked out for us, I don’t really know how.”

Added fellow Sprint Cup star Brad Keselowski, who had two trucks wreck during qualifying last week, “Qualifying in the Truck series is an adventure. I’m glad we got through it without tearing up our trucks this week. It feels good and I think we’ll be ready for the race.”

Here’s how qualifying played out:
