WATCH LIVE: NASCAR America at 5:30 p.m. ET – Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s win, Talladega controversy

Today’s episode of NASCAR America, which airs from 5:30 - 6 p.m. ET, deconstructs Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s emotional victory at Talladega Superspeedway and takes a look at why the field couldn’t mount much of a challenge over the final 25 laps.

Krista Voda hosts with Dale Jarrett from our Stamford (Conn.) studios and will be joined by Jeff Burton from NBC Charlotte.

Also in today’s show:

  • Earnhardt Jr. essentially qualified for the Chase with his first victory of the 2015 season. It was the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s first win at Talladega since October 2004. What else was happening in the world a decade ago?
  • The victory also was the first in a Sprint Cup points race for his crew chief, Greg Ives, whom Kelli Stavast chatted with yesterday in Victory Lane (along with the race winner).
  • For the third time this year, there was a late-race controversy involving caution flags (or lack thereof) and last-lap crashes. One of the sport’s biggest stars sounded off, and you won’t want to miss what he said!
