Michigan International Speedway has announced the lineup of bands for its inaugural Keloorah, a mini-music festival with a dozen acts that will be held in conjunction with its NASCAR weekends on June 12-14 and Aug. 14-16.

  • June 12: Tim Dugger, Drake White, Montgomery Gentry
  • June 13: I Am Dynamite, Bear Hands, American Authors
  • Aug. 14: Saints of Valory, Big Data, Kongos
  • Aug. 15: Tim Dugger, Dylan Scott, Logan Mize and a TBA headliner

The bands will play from 4-11 p.m. each day in an area outside turn 3 at the 2-mile oval. Admission will be buying a ticket of any value to the Sprint Cup race that Sunday. Several DJs from Detroit also will be performing at the festival.

Track president Roger Curtis said it would create “exponential value” for NASCAR fans already attending the race while also trying to attract a younger audience to racing. MIS has played host to a standalone country music festival called Faster Horses that drew 72,000 last year.

“This isn’t going to be Coachella or even Faster Horses, but it’s probably unprecedented in NASCAR to have this many music acts playing on a race weekend,” Curtis told NBC Sports in a Monday phone interview. “This is a great first step to establishing a festival on race weekends to attract Millennials.”
