Rain-delayed Food City 500 In Support Of Steve Byrnes to resume by 7 pm ET at Bristol

The rain-delayed Food City 500 In Support Of Steve Byrnes is expected to resume around 7 pm ET this evening, according to NASCAR officials.

Track drying efforts are underway on the half-mile bullring and are expected to be concluded just before the race once again goes green.

Kevin Harvick held the lead after 22 laps when the race was red-flagged due to rain. The rest of the top 10 when the race resumes will be Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, Kurt Busch and Denny Hamlin, followed by Kasey Kahne, Jamie McMurray, David Ragan,Paul Menard and Kyle Larson.

Thus far there has been one significant incident of note: Penske Racing teammates Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano wrecked together on Lap 19, just three laps before the race was red-flagged.

Both cars suffered significant damage and likely will finish far back in the pack even if they are able to be repaired and return to the racetrack.
