Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kurt Busch is without crew chief Tony Gibson after the Food City 500 in Support of Steve Byrnes resumed from a nearly four-hour red flag for rain.

Gibson began suffering from a kidney stone during the red flag. He has been replaced on the No. 41’s pit box by lead engineer John Klausmeyer. He will be sharing crew chief duties with Stewart-Haas racing competition director Greg Zipadelli.

Gibson tweeted that he already had been released from a Bristol hospital and was watching the race from his motorcoach at the track.

This incident comes 33 days after Gibson passed another kidney stone in the hospital.
