Austin Dillon, Denny Hamlin fastest in final Xfinity practice at Bristol

Austin Dillon paced the field in a mishap-filled Xfinity Series practice session Friday afternoon at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Qualifying for Saturday’s Drive to Stop Diabetes 300 takes place Saturday at 9:45 am ET, followed by the race a bit later at 1:30 pm ET.

Dillon led the field in the final practice session with a speed of 124.412 mph, followed by Denny Hamlin (124.259) and Daniel Suarez (123.754).

There were several mishaps in the session:

* Chase Elliott spun and backed his car into the outside wall, suffering damage to the rear end and spoiler of his Chevrolet.

* Brennan Poole spun and hit the inside wall, suffering minor front end damage.

* Points leader Ty Dillon spun into the outside wall.

* Kevin Harvick also hit the outside wall, but the damage was repairable, Harvick told Fox Sports 1.
