FORT WORTH - Twitter is a place where athletes can break their own news.

In the case of Sprint Cup driver Alex Bowman, it was the news of a broken finger.

But Bowman won’t be added to the already long list of drivers who have had to be replaced this season due to medical reasons.

Bowman, who drives for Tommy Baldwin Racing, tweeted he would still be the cockpit of the N0. 7 Nikko Chevrolet for Saturday’s Duck Commander 500 Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway.

Thursday afternoon Bowman once again took to Twitter to inform his followers of a medical prodecure taking place on the same finger in his team’s infield hauler.
