Former pro wrestler Bill Goldberg will serve as emcee for Bristol Motor Speedway’s driver introductions before the April 19 Food City 500.

“NASCAR is near and dear to my heart,” Goldberg said in a release from the track. “Bristol is like no other track on the planet and the driver introductions are a special treat for the fans. I plan to pump up the party and have some fun with the drivers.”

Goldberg’s appearance continues pro wrestling’s ties with the sport. Various wrestlers have gone to NASCAR races through the years. WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter served as the grand marshal for an Xfinity race in 2011 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. John Cena was the honorary starter for the 2012 Daytona 500. Brock Lesner was at Phoenix International Raceway in March 2014. WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels drove the pace car at Texas in April 2013.

Wrestling’s biggest event, WrestleMania 32 will take place next year at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on April 3 and could be held on the same weekend as NASCAR’s race at Texas Motor Speedway.
