Five crew members of No. 8 Xfinity team issued behavioral penalties by NASCAR for Fontana incident

NASCAR on Wednesday issued behavioral penalties to five members of the No. 8 Xfinity Series team.

The alleged incident for which the team members were penalized reportedly occurred March 21 at Auto Club Speedway, according to a NASCAR media release.

Here is an excerpt from that release detailing who was involved and the cause of the incident:

The crew members violated the following Sections in the 2015 NASCAR rule book:

12-1: Actions detrimental to stock car racing: Involved in a pre-race incident; failure to comply with a directive from Track Security

12.8a: Behavioral Penalty

Crew member Mark Armstrong has been fined $1,500, suspended from NASCAR until April 21 and placed on NASCAR probation through Dec. 31.

Crew members Tyler Bullard, Nathaniel House, Jeremy Howard and Ryan Mulder have all been placed on NASCAR probation through Dec. 31.


A spokesperson for TriStar Motorsports toldNASCAR Talk that the crew members are contracted from Stewart-Haas Racing. A Stewart-Haas Racing spokesman confirmed that the crew members are SHR employees but had no comment.
